I don't understand how some people say things without knowing what they mean, or if they do, why would they say them?
1. I'll ask, "what'd you do?" or "what are you guys gonna do?" Then they answer, "Just chill." What does that mean? It means absolutely nothing. I can't understand what people would find good about doing nothing. If they're relaxing, then say you're relaxing, which usually means you're watching TV, or talking, or eating a snack, or doing something. But "chilling" is just some made-up word that someone who thought they were cool said one day, and people thought it sounded cool, so they started saying it too. But it has no meaning.
2. I've heard this one twice, which seriously made me wonder what the person meant by it. I asked these people how they knew someone that I also knew. Their answer: "Oh, we used to roll together." What does that mean? You used to walk around together? You used to drive side-by-side? You used to hang out? You used to be friends?
Man, ghetto-talk is fun and all, but seriously, it should be named nothing-ese.
