If I don't become a successful financial planner, I hope I can become a superstar golfer. I went to the golf dome a little while ago, and I think this year will be a great year for golf for me. I was hitting my regular good shots well, but then I was also cranking out 3 and 5 woods from the green. I NEVER hit woods well, so I think this is a sign for good things to come.

In any case, if I ever become a super great golfer, I'm gonna hype up Mike Weir as being my mentor. Whenever I talk about him, I'll always call him "Mr. Weir", and I'll be sure to mention that he was the inspiration for me to golf. Of course, this isn't really true, but you know how tradition makes you feel cool? Well nationalism, although inherently evil, makes you feel good too. Just look at the menu that Mike Weir is gonna serve at the Masters dinner this year (he gets to do that because he won last year):

Champions Dinner Menu

Canapes
Lobster in Puff Pastry with Saffron and Vanilla Aioli
Sockeye Salmon Tartate with Dill Creme Fraiche and Salmon Cavier
Wild Boar and Chanterelle Mushroom Bundles

Appetizer
White and Green Asparagus Salad, Oat Crusted Arctic Char with Maple Brown Butter Vinaigrette, Baby Golden Beet and Candy Stripe Beet Relishes.
Vineland Estates White Meritage 2001

Entree
Roasted Rack of Caribou with Sour Cherry and Parsnip Compote, Fingerling Potatoes and British Columbia Morel Mushrooms.
Vineland Estates Cabernet/Merlot 2002

Dessert
Inniskillin Ice Wine Sabayon with Canadian Wild Berries.

Seriously, isn't that amazing? He's serving the appetizer salad and the entree and dessert. The canapes in the beginning are a Masters tradition. But seriously, that meal is SO Canadian. The only thing missing is a slice of pizza with back bacon and some maple syrup, but he's got maple butter, so i think everyone's gonna love it.

To put things in perspective, Tiger Woods, after he won in 1997, served cheeseburgers and milkshakes. What a freakin cheap ass. He probably dropped $400 on all that, while Mike Weir will easily be in the thousands of dollars. If I won, I'd serve an amazing meal:

Appetizers: soup. I don't know what kind though. Maybe a lobster bisque, with a swirl of full cream in the middle, and brown rice wafers to dip. Or maybe chicken noodle.

Entree: Indian buffet at Indian Kitchen. I'd order take out and then warm it up in the Masters microwave. That'd be wicked.

Dessert: Sourdough apple pie. But this is where it gets serious. Not just any apples would go into this pie. Only Cox's Orange Pippen apples would be used. They're from England usually, although we grow them in Canada too. I've never had them, but Roald Dahl, my favourite writer, actually wrote about them in one of his books, so I think that'd be quite marvellous. Oh, and Cookeo ice cream on the side, just like Demetrie's.

Oh, and to drink, we'd have grape Tang, and Bailey's. Mmmmmm......

Can you think of a better meal to serve 35 super rich ass punks who played golf 20 years ago? Send any ideas to gersondsouza@hotmail.com.
