I went golfing today at some place up in Ajax, the supposed home of Sum41. Sum41 wasn't there, and neither was the stellar golf that I eventually wanna play. I wasn't doing too bad until I got to the final few holes, where I completely screwed up. It was a combination of the darkness, and the dampness, and the whole round taking so long that really made it frustrating. I threw the ball that initially screwed me up into the water. That did absolutely nothing for my frustration. I really can't allow myself to get frustrated, because there's no cure for frustration. At least not for me. I guess golf isn't really the best sport to play in my case, but I try to block out the bad shots and focus on the good ones. But it's amazing how many times I've already replayed several bad shots from today in my mind.
Anyways, I had one par today, which makes up for at least 5 bad shots. I had 2 other par putts that I missed, one which was only about 4 feet. But those are close calls, so I consider them good. I also hit one fade (where the ball curves to my right) almost around a tree, and I actually planned it, so I consider that a good shot too. The fact that it hit the tree and I lost it doesn't really matter too much to me. I also made 3 good sand saves today, which is good because I usually hit at least 3 sand traps per round.
But enough about golf. More about being cool. And this summer is definitely about being cool. Not temperature-wise, but attitude-wise. I realized that I've made some serious inside jokes with people recently. I could pretty well have conversations with people that other people wouldn't understand because there are so many inside references. I like that. That's cool. And there really isn't anything cooler than being cool, other than being absolute zero (minus 274 Kelvin or something like that).
