I saw a billboard recently, on Yonge street, near St. Clair, that's for some beauty product. The point of it was that the slogan was "Surgery Can Wait!". I guess this stuff was supposed to keep you looking young until there was absolutely nothing that modern cosmetics could do for you, at which point, you would have to obviously get plastic surgery done. Man. Seriously.
I also saw a raccoon get hit by a car, and then it was obviously injured, because it kept rolling around the road, really quickly and obviously in pain. Then when I drove back over that same stretch of road, I saw the dead body of it lying on the road. I wouldn't normally feel bad for raccoons, but this one was so close to living, but just rolled around the road too long. Hopefully it wasn't a mother raccoon, with little raccoon babies. Otherwise, good riddance.
Driving this weekend couldn't have been better. I was given an offer to buy a car recently that is an AMAZING deal. Unfortunately, my current income wouldn't even cover the idea of buying a car. But distance, in this case, certainly makes my heart grow fonder. And funnily enough, as I was driving this weekend, with the windows down of course, a memory of Vancouver was triggered at one point. This weekend, moreso than the other recent weekends, reminded me of Vancouver. I'm thinking a trip to Vancouver is in my near future, as in next Spring, or maybe even during the winter. I think it'd be a great trip for several people to join in on.
I was also thinking about winter this weekend. If it was winter right now, I'd be so ready. The black fly bite I got on my thumb has lessened in swelling a little, but it reminds me of how I've never gotten a bug bite in winter. I take a small pleasure in thinking about the mosquitos and bugs that die each winter. They're simply too weak when it comes to cold. I, on the other hand, have the strength of 10 men when it comes to cold. But winter is so much more than just cold. It's snow. It's Christmas. It's slow economic growth. It's simply put, the season of seasons. All this summer is really making me sweaty and dark. And believe you me; being dark ain't easy, and sweatiness isn't all it's cracked up to be. And basically, it's not cracked up to be anything.
Here's to the repeat summer of 1998 showing me some benefit before NYC.
